The Roots + TBD
Managed to snare tickets to the extra-special Roots ‘The Jam’ series opener at Highline Ballroom tomorrow night. I am excited like a 6-year old who just found a frozen lake to walk on.
The Roots rock, and are consistently great live. Add into that this is the first night in their Jam series, which is shaping up to be pretty special, and then you throw in that there will be ‘very special guests TBA’. Wow. I could give a shit if R Kelly walked up on stage, I would still be excited.
Still, lets hope that he doesn’t.
Two other notes here. First, the show is at the Highline ballroom, which is a great NYC venue, and often overlooked. It is a great size, always tightly packed which builds atmospherem, and you can sneak upstairs for the best view of the show. The other great news, the venue, and the artist, have decided that $10 is the right price for this event. Given they could fill a venue 3x the size, and for 3x the price, I am proud of them.
